Since the dawn of time, humankind has harbored an obsession with being able to return to a past event in order to change the course of present and future events. From mystical, magical, and scientific perspectives, people have attempted to address this issue without success. Einstein argued that to achieve such a feat, it was necessary to move faster than light, something truly impossible for an ordinary human being. This dream has been brought to the cinema in famous films and series, but it has not only been for entertainment. Besides physics, neuroscience has also developed studies and methods. Psychology has also designed effective techniques to help patients with traumatic past events continue their lives. However, these disciplines make it clear that the patient only has the ability to manipulate their reactive, emotional field in response to events; that it is not advisable to try to change the scenes, as this is in the realm of fiction. We think differently and are convinced that the event or mental movie can be edited, not only in the emotional response but also in the events themselves, and sooner or later the personal world will have changed. In this first installment, we share the concepts, practices, and exercises needed to navigate the sea of possibilities hidden within this wonderful OIR method of time travel.
